Scheduled BackUps Inop After Win2K Critical Update

I have Veritas BackUp 4.5a on my Win2K SP2 machine. I have scheduled daily backups to the Seagate SCSI travan 5 tape drive.

Since having gone for the latest Windows Critical Update, I cannot get the scheduled operations to run. I cannot think of any other factor that has changed that might keep the scheduled events from running.

Anybody know how to get rid of these "critical updates"?
