I know this was being discussed in the Trump 2024 thread, but I think it probably warrants its own dedication discussion.

I remember thinking in 2017, "What the hell is Bannon talking about with deconstruction of the administrative state?" Well, now we know.

Consider that J6 and all the election challenges of 2020 failed by an ultra razor thin margin because of a competent few in key positions. Now imagine Trump loyalists at every lever of government. And before you say it's just an executive order and can be repealed by the next admin....there won't be another"next admin" after this.

The State Legislature SCOTUS case and then this executive order will likely be the 1-2 punch that cements GOP total control. Gotta give the Founders credit...they built a pretty decent system, only took 250 years for someone to find the right loopholes to exploit.

And where are the Dems as we sleepwalk to our slaughter?? Imagine being in control of the government currently and still getting outplayed by the GOP like this.

Republicans at the state level giving themselves the authority to subvert the will of the voters is another hair on fire moment.

He accomplished very little outside of appointing judges and you don't need almost any executive staff to do that. Policy wise he's probably the least accomplished president of the modern era.

Yep - I think this is primarily because he has no policy interests outside of some racism. He is concerned with self aggrandizement and stealing money from the treasury. Don't need policy for that!
