I know this was being discussed in the Trump 2024 thread, but I think it probably warrants its own dedication discussion.

I remember thinking in 2017, "What the hell is Bannon talking about with deconstruction of the administrative state?" Well, now we know.

Consider that J6 and all the election challenges of 2020 failed by an ultra razor thin margin because of a competent few in key positions. Now imagine Trump loyalists at every lever of government. And before you say it's just an executive order and can be repealed by the next admin....there won't be another"next admin" after this.

The State Legislature SCOTUS case and then this executive order will likely be the 1-2 punch that cements GOP total control. Gotta give the Founders credit...they built a pretty decent system, only took 250 years for someone to find the right loopholes to exploit.

And where are the Dems as we sleepwalk to our slaughter?? Imagine being in control of the government currently and still getting outplayed by the GOP like this.

How are they being outplayed on schedule F?

Also, how many additional galaxies will this extend Republican domination over? Is this why we got the Webb telescope, to determine the extent of their conquest?

Also it’s pretty funny how you’ve been hyperventilating for years about Republicans ending democracy and instituting permanent one party dictatorship but I guess that’s gotten old so you decided now to hyperventilate about…civil service protections. Lol.

Let me help you understand something very simple. If Republicans end democracy in the US civil service protections don’t mean anything anyway.

Not as funny as you still insisting Trump will get indicted.

If you listen carefully you can hear millions of Buddhist chanting:

Om Mane Padme Hum.

I bet that means, “Good grief the sky is falling but it’s only air.”

OP is right to express concern on the slow boil of democracy. There is no doubt that is underway.

Republicans at the state level giving themselves the authority to subvert the will of the voters is another hair on fire moment.

Did you enjoy the Trump corruption by the dozens? Prepare for it by the thousands. What makes anyone think he wouldn't do this. I bet you people didn't think an elected President would attempt a coup of the federal government.

Newt Gingrich appears to confirm Trump plan to replace civil servants with MAGA loyalists if he returns to White House (yahoo.com)
Donald Trump to tout Schedule F at Turning Point rally (axios.com)

I continue to be amazed at the people who don't expect the worst from Donald Trump. Will you never learn?

Exactly. Look how much he accomplished with total idiots at the helm, now imagine the damage they would do if all of the government positions were filled by MAGA’s.

He accomplished very little outside of appointing judges and you don't need almost any executive staff to do that. Policy wise he's probably the least accomplished president of the modern era.

Judges and tax cuts for the rich. Mitch McConnell did 90% of that work. Trump was told where to put his "X"

His big test was COVID and he failed miserably

Yep - I think this is primarily because he has no policy interests outside of some racism. He is concerned with self aggrandizement and stealing money from the treasury. Don't need policy for that!

Forgetting all the regulations that were eliminated?
