Text - Think it's a better deal than the $579 42" Westinghouse? This one's a new, non-refurb as well. Ground shipping is $27-$29 in IL, unlike $99 for the Westy 😕

meh. for a tv, i'd rather have an entry-level 720p plasma for around the same price.

i guess this would make a decent jumbo pc monitor for some, though.

If the price is the same, order from Newegg over TD any day.... With a better price it's just gravy.......

Why a 720p plasma over a 1080p LCD?

Scepter isn't exactly top notch. I'd definately check one out in a store before gettign one.
I can't forsee replacing my 42" 720P plasma anytime soon, though when it cost me $330 OTD at Sams with a 4 year warranty, I'm going to milk that bitch until it dies.

Is the OP price good in CompUSA stores?

better color, contrast, black levels, viewing angle, and with a TV you're likely to not notice the difference in resolution.

high end lcd's can look great but the cheaper ones usually don't.

on a 92" screen at 15 feet, my eyes can't resolve the difference between 720p and 1080p. I CAN however, tell when there is no 3:2 pulldown and I'm seeing 1080p24, that makes WAY more of a difference for movie watching than resolution

black levels on plasmas are fairly crappy imo

You got a 42" 720p plasma for $330 out the door? Somehow I find it hard to believe....

This Sceptre would make a decent large monitor. Make sure you have plenty of room and are sitting back far enough though...
