That snake guy has lost it. But back to subject at hand. Sceptre make decent monitors ( or better yet buy decent monitors) The same with thier TV. 80% of all TV with the same specs are the same TV. Only 3 place have the glass and the internals are usually farmed out to 1 of 5 companies. No some TV's are crap but if you really look at the spces you can tell.

Regular signals look not so good on my 37" Sceptre and I imagine that the same is true for this one.

Yeah, I am not sure what is up with the snake dude... must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed.

I still think this is a pretty rocking deal. If only I had the money just laying around and didn't already own a 37" Sceptre I might be able to justify it. I run my PC through the TV and it looks great... although I have to turn down the resolution sometimes and use big fonts to read text. 46" might solve that problem.

I just got one of these (at the end of last week). I won't write a long review as I haven't had it long enough to give much detail. My only other large LCD experience of my own is the 23" LCD I use for gaming that I've had for about 1.5 years now.

The Sceptre set allows me to finally fulfill my dreams of having a HTPC running my home theater system. Unfortunately, my 27" Magnavox CRT didn't have inputs. Right now, I have my HTPC (AMD64 3400+/2GB RAM/6800GT) hooked up to the Sceptre through the 'HDMI2' port and my Comcast box with component cables. I'm using component with my cable box for 2 reasons: the set will not allow PIP/POP between two HDMI inputs, and for some reason the Comcast box always drops its connection when I first switch to 'HDM1'. I don't see this (componet cables) as a big deal since Comcast only broadcasts in 1080i.

Most of you have seen what a 1080p TV can do w/a good HDTV input, so I'll spare you all the "..beautiful, sharp, colorful.." talk. It does look good though. NO DEAD PIXELS!!! Hooray!! I still haven't seen an LCD that looks good on normal cable and this isn't one either, though it's not horrible. You know what inputs it has from the specs, so I'll spare you that too. If you're like me, you probably just want to know the cons, so here you go...

Cons:
-Patchy backlighting, though it seems to be getting less noticeable. I've seen this on many other LCD's.
-High pitched sound when the TV first comes on, not loud, but audible.
-Pretty shiny "case" might pick up dust and finger prints.
-HDMI1 connection drops cable box (or visa versa)

If you decide to take the plunge, good luck! Ok, so this did get long :)

Sorry I guess I only pasted in the first line of that.

I have the 37" version and it is great, but only 1 HDMI... I am tempted to upgrade!:D

For anyone interested in a similar TV but concerned about reviews etc., I'd suggest the $1499 Vizio 47" at costco.

47" VIZIO at costco

I have seen the LCD in person for extended viewing and I like it. Yes, for the same money you could get a 50" plasma, but I like this deal better.
