Because a native interface is better on a phone? You don't get the full featured experience using Facebook on Chrome on Android.... Even if you requested the desktop site, you get the features but it's a horrible experience to deal with.

I'm installing a Pandora (music streaming) app update just now.. It has two pages of permission requests...

Lock screen. Disable your screen lock.
Phone calls. read phone status and identity.
Your personal information. Add or modify calendar events and send email to guests without owners knowledge

And that's just a music streaming app.

LOL. That doesn't help, since 99+% of everyone are idiots.

Anyway, I know you know a fair amount about developments in tech. Now "what goes on in this world" and what might count as "having something to hide"... still need some seasoning for that.
