My very first memory is a nightmare of King Kong climbing up the side of our apartment and reaching in to grab me... I was still sleeping in a crib at the time.

🙂

Gmork? Really? I thought he looked cuddly. But I grew up with German Shepherds so maybe that had something to do with it. Before naming the baby we like to see if the dog likes it or eats it. We film the whole thing just in case.

Freddy Krueger. I slept on the floor in my sister's room next to her bed for 2 weeks after defying parent's orders and staying up late to watch the original NoES. Dumb.

I was very little when I saw Gremlins in the theatre and the actual Gremlins scared the crap out of me. I think maybe I had been lulled into a false sense of safety by that bastard Gizmo.

I tried googeling but could not find it. There was a 60s I think movie about an alien that got on a space ship and drained the fluids out of the crew with its hands. The survivors noticed that it used a tremdous amount of oxygen and opened the airlock to the ship and that is how they killed it. I had nightmares about that for years.

that fucking clown from IT ... F-U PENNYWISE!!

the movie Poltergeist also scared the crap out of me as a kid, as did Aliens cause I thought it was on earth.

Found it It! The Terror from Beyond Space

In 1964, a manned space mission is sent to Mars, but when the rocket ship crashlands a second ship is sent to discover the fate of the first. On Mars, the crew finds Captain Carruthers, (Thompson), the ships only survivor, who they arrest and begin the journey to bring him back to Earth to face a trial for the murder of his crew. However, the real culprit is a blood sucking creature, (Corrigan), that is now in the second ship, preying on the crew. Despite attempts to destroy the monster, the remaining crewmen finally withdraw the oxygen from the ship and suffocate the blood sucker. Two missions to Mars and only six men return, the science advisory committee aptly announce that "another name for Mars...is death!".

That mutated dude from Robocop. They should never have let me watch that as a kid.

Chucky was bad too.

Pennywise from IT. I was horrified for years of clowns and shower drains. It wasn't until I was older and realized it was just Tim Curry in a clown suit.

My mom never let me watch anything scary as a kid, one night at a friends' house, they played poultregeist... in hindsight that was effing stupid to play to a bunch of ~10 year olds. I was quite scared for months, had inarticulate nightmares.

Nothing ever bothered me.

I was desensitized at a young age to gore and horror movies.

so was I , but one or two movies should stand out...

was in the same boat and can't recall any.

I watched all the Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Friday the 13th , Living Dead series...Texas Chainsaw massacre and pretty much every horror movie that came out when I was a child.

Don't recall having any nitemares (woah...freaky) or being scared.

Looking back now though, Leatherface was pretty gruesome and hell he ate people and had a chainsaw.

The Nothing scared me way more than that wolf!

For me, I'd have to say nearly everything in Poltergeist scared me the most as a kid:

1) the tree that tries to eat the son
2) the clown
3) the weird, fleshy hole in the wall that grew larger and larger
4) the giant demon face in the doorway where Caroline was
5) the skeletal...thing, with giant limbs pic
