At least offer your own opinion! :p

Hrmm the movie that I remember being scariest when I first watched it would definately be the Exorcist. Granted I was 8 years old at the time.

My opinion is skewed. When i was 6 or 7 my mom went out for the evening and left with with a babysitter. Well, said sitter decided to watch The Exorcist at like 9 at night while I was "asleep" on the couch.
Folks, The Exorcist is NOT something a kid at age 7 should watch.
So, I vote The Exorcist.

Hmm, that's a tough one. Nothing on the screen really scares me anymore so I would have a difficult time picking one.

Oh well, here goes...Phantom Menace. That's my pick for scariest movie EVAR!!! :p

Poltergeist. I saw it on Halloween when I was really young. I was freaked out for the longest time that the tree outside my room was going to eat me.

Hah, welcome to the 'Those who saw Exorcist when they were really young... causing all other movies to not be scary' club.

That's the problem. Nothing will ever compare to that experience and so I never get scared by anything anymore. I find myself looking for more plot-driven horror movies like Psycho, The Others, etc. nowadays.

Yeah, Poltergeist was scary to me as a kid. Now it seems tame, as do all horror flicks.

I still hate clowns, though. :)

While not a scary movie, Fellowship of the Ring had what I thought was the most horror-filled moment I've ever seen on screen -- the unveiling of the Uruk-hai warrior underneath that sludge and mud. I remember feeling extremely... ummm... scared when he popped up and started attacking the orc.

I always thought, ?The Beast Within?, was the scariest movie that I have ever seen.
But then again I saw it when I was pretty little.
"Dawn of the Dead", was another movie I found to be very scary when I was little.

In the Mouth of Madness. Yes Event Horizon is a close second for me. Both are Sam Neil movies.

Not a bad choice, but mine is Arachnophobia.

14 years later, this movie STILL haunts me.
I think a reason that movie never really scared me, is because I'm not afraid of spiders. I always thought that movie was somewhat funny. :D

Showgirls...

Actually I was scared as a kid by "Trilogy of Terror", the third part, witht he little evil doll chasing the woman around her apartment. I was about 7 or 8, scared the hell out of me.
