GREAT Show, good concept but they should really extend the drama/fear a bit more. I especially liked the beat down the guy in the car gave to the loner/hitchhiker/murderer.
This show may cross the line but it is just so entertaining.

Here is an article on the lawsuit. Sci Fi Show Reality Show Scare Tactics Being Sued

Christ, the lady is a CRISIS counselor and her actor friends set her up. I'll bet they made her and the rest of the victims sign something unknowingly before taping her/them.

It is sad that someone is already sueing the show. People like that are going to cause the show to go off the air.

I just read that lawsuit story... it was actually the first skit Scare Tactics debutted with, ironically. The woman just doesn't know how to take a joke. True, hospitalization is no laughing matter, but you have to look at the whole scope of what went on. She was most likely the one (speculation here) who bruised herself. Emotional distress is BS most of the time, and most likely what her lawyer told her to sue for anyway.

Come outside and take a look... IT WAS A JOKE.

Still, she has every right to sue, and she will probably win/settle.

The show tries to entertain but also keep from crossing the line where the victim would potentially keel over with a heart attack. Last episode, some huge/obese dude was trying to save his co-worker from a "mutant/alien" but ended up running away because he was obviously freaked by the whole thing. I swear he could've had a heart attack right there on the spot. He was a good sport about it when they told him, at least. They always are... except this one woman who wants money.

Oh, come on now. This is just more "reality" drivel that has no real entertainment value. Let alone being moral or ethical. Considering that there is already too much "reality" $#!t on TV, and the fact that this and Tremors are trying to replace the only intelligent series SciFi has ever produced or ran, the station should be shut down.

Other reality shows are almost all just flat out boring, this is funny 😀

Its not a fair comparison. Tremors does suck though.

I think you're caught with the mindset that every FAD sucks. Nowadays, that fad is "reality" tv. But you know what? Candid Camera has been around for how long ?

This is the same thing, with a theme.

This show really isn't very good. I'm not sure it's worth my time...

The special effects aren't even that special. That gorilla looks horrible.

It's the best fake stuff I've ever seen. The gorilla looked real. Down to the yellow'd teeth and the manners by which it walked. Even the mutant/alien dude in the skit before it looked real with the red-slime $#!t. In the lawsuit being filed against the show, the chick was so scared by the monster she and the unsuspecting guy actually ran away. Tell me how that happens if it was just some guy in a Halloween costume. This stuff looks real as can be. I was actually impressed. I think what they do need work on are some fresh skit ideas...

The serial killer at camp, and the alien attack were pretty good.

The gorilla however looks nothing like a real gorilla. They purposefully made him look "mean." And the plasma gun? Please. So far, the people on the show look to be morons.

I hope a friend puts you in one of those situations... 😉

You may be right. I don't have a huge problem with fads in general, but the current one is awful. I don't mind "unscripted" shows, as long as they are done with taste and intelligence. I enjoy watching "While you were out", "Junkyard wars", and "Trading Spaces" on TLC. These shows are great. You get to set back and learn things. You get some humor thrown in for a laugh or two, while going "hmm, I could do something like that in my living room." These type of "reality" or "unscripted" shows are good.

What I don't like is the amount of dirty, uncivilized, nasty, slutty, etc. reality that is being thrown out to cater to the "average guy". Now there is even a "unscripted" moving being released? Scare Tactics is just flat out degrading and trashy. Sure, they may get money to make costumes and sets look as realistic as possible, but it finally comes down to still being trash. It's amazing what the American public will allow people to do to each other all in the name of entertainment. At what point does it lose it's sense of entertainment or humor? I remember taking my little brother out on Halloween and some jacka$$ thought it was funny to scare the little kids. He didn't find it so funny after I beat the crap out of him for scaring my brother. This is what Scare Tactics reminds me of. Innocent people being scarred so someone else can laugh at them. Personally I think that the whole crew should be taken out back and laughed at as they are getting beaten with baseball bats.

I'm waiting for the day that the entertainment fad is intelligent shows and movies. When you have to watch every minute of the show to understand what it going on. When you set back after watching the show and say "I never knew that" instead of "did you see that guy take the sledgehammer in the nuts!". Of course, this will never happen because the general population is too stupid to care. Everyone just wants to laugh, even if it is at someone else's expense.

I saw it last night. I don't know if it's right to play with people's emotions like that or not. They had one poor guy seeing (what he thought was) a dead body and he was almost sick. I can't imagine how I'd feel.
