scansoft paperport 9 pro - any good?

someone i know [sort of] is offering to sell this to me [cheap] as he is upgrading to Paperport 10.

seems good organisational software and allows filling in of scanned forms etc.
is it any good? some reviews say this version is buggy?
 
neither am i tbh, hence i cant justify the high expense of paperport 10 [even though it looks very cool!]
just wanted to make sure it hasnt got any definate "avoid at all costs" issues with it or major quirks
