I have a flatbed scanner (Brother all in laser copying machine) and was wondering if it was safe to scan the circuit board of the hard drive on it. Its very difficult to take a good picture of the cirucuit board with a camera, and some recommended scanning it. However, will the circuit board and the hard drive get damaged if I do a scan? Hard drives are sensitive, so I thought I would ask.

Thanks.

Anyone else know for sure? There isn't anything magnetic in the the scanner?

No magnetic field you accidentally come into contact with is going to be strong enough to erase media, even partially.
