Scanner & Windows 7

I've got an older scanner...RadioShack (Visioneer spinoff, I believe) brand.
Worked fine with XP, made the switch to Vista & it couldn't find any drivers & neither could I.
What's the chances of it working with Windows 7?
Thanks!

It won't. The driver model changed with vista and its no differnt between vista and win7. Companies don't want to spend the time and money to program drivers for there older hardware so your SOL. Unless you can find a hacked driver for it or search threw the pre installed scanner drivers in the OS and see if one works for you. Scanners are pretty basic so i'm sure you can find a set of generic drivers that will work.

I had a similar problem with my Epson 2450 - but find it works just fine using the TWAIN driver and forgetting the scanware that came with it.

Both my scanner & printer used the generic Epson & Twain drivers until I installed new ones I downloaded online.
So actually, the chance of being able to use it in Windows 7 is pretty good, you just might not be able to access a lot of the device features before installing more specific drivers for them.
