Scanner picture problem.

Hi,

Well, I just got my scanner hooked up to my computer. Whenever I scan a picture, the picture kind of comes out, but it is tinted purple. Would adjusting contrast or brightness or resolution effect this? I am trying to print the cover of a magazine. Is the glossyness of the cover effecting this? If so, what can I do? I can select 4 different picture types, TIF image, JPEG image, Bitmap image, and PNG image. What can I do to get these pictures better? THANKS

Usually I use TIF noncompressed format for high quality scans. Try using a higher resolution and/or higher color setting.

Look in the scanner softwear and there should be a program to run a color calibration on the scanner where you put a item with a good many different colors on it ane it scans it to calibrate the scanner. My cannon has it.
