My scanner has started giving me bluish tint scans. It first started just at one end of the table but now no matter where I place the pic to be scanned it has a bluish tint to it. B+W are ok only colour are blue.

What means dat ?

I did a scan with the cover up and noticed when it scans the red light...the light is out in the middle and can only be seen at the ends of the moving tray....I summise that the light needs replacing....is it proprietary or can they be a common light tube. The chances of me finding someone who services this 10yr+ scanner are remote at best.

Relisys AVEC 2400 scsi ....ancient but up to now relliable.

I don't think the light is necessarily a totaly standard component(nothing like a PSU for instance); but in all the scanners I've ever gutted(only two or three, all recent-ish models) they have been extremely similar. If you can find a junked scanner it might well be worth a look. I'm sorry I cannot be more concretely helpful.

I still use a Relisys 2420. I was ready to throw it away about five years ago, because I couldn't get it to work right and then I ran across this software. Using Artscan by Jetsoft and an Adaptec scsi card. Never did it even scan close to this good when it was new. The scsi interface is worth it. Try the software.
