Scam on eBay?

Do any of you understand things like this? Is this a scam?

This auction is for infomation where you can get a 19" Flat Panel LCD Active Matrix TFT monitor for $50.00. This is not a gag or anything like that, it is legit. I know several people who have gotten it so far (including myself). I am not selling the monitor, ONLY the information. If you do not understand what is for auction here, DO NOT BID.

Yes, it's basically a scam because the information they are selling wants you to commit fraud and attempt to tell companies that you are a product tester and try and get them to send you samples. Oh wait, I just told you everything he did. Where's my fifty bucks?

No, it doesn't work either. Do you really think companies are that stupid?

EDIT: BTW, you linked the wrong auction.

btw, if i'm not mistaken, those "informational" auctions may be prohibited by eBay now. report it.

Yeah it's going to either tell you "call the manufacturer or the middle man and report you are a huge company, product reviewer, etc and need a sample" or it will give you the internet address of a matrix buying scheme where you pay $5-$50 and add your name to a list...once you pay the top guy gets his monitor and you are added in line. Usually only the creator of the matrix gets his item and then stops managing it (but still collects the cash).

Also some do give you links to 'broken' equipment vendors.
