Anyone reccommend a scale / body fat measure? I am looking on Epinions and there are so many options. Also know any cheap place to pick one up besides Ebay?

I have tanita one and it's ok, but dont expect super accurate results. I can make the results swing from 4 percent body fat to 24 percent, depending on how wet my feet are, how much water i've recently ingested, and what time of day i got on it. However, assuming you keep these variables constant (by measuring yourself first thing in the morning at the same time, with dry feet & no water before bed), you can get a fairly accurate RELATIVE measurement. That is, you can tell when you're dropping or adding body fat. The numbers you'll get arent nearly as important as how they change day-to-day. Just don't expect that actual number to be the most accurate figure in the world.

it's definately worth the money if you have it. i'm in college and i dont have to much spare $ and i only check once a month anyway. I go to the gym a few times a week so it makes sense for me to use to one they have. but it is def. a good investment

We have a Tanita BF662 that we got a while ago and compared to the $3000 at our gym, it is very accurate. Of course, hydration levels depending, you need to do it the exact same time every day with the same conditions to be as accurate as possible. We enjoy it and Skoorbie has really massively toned up and loves watching the fat % go down! :p

if you want it done right you should get dunk tested. you just get into a large tub of water and see how much water you displace. i believe it's the most accurate way to test.

Doesn't that just measure volume?

Tanita scales are decent enough for body fat. They are also super darn accurate weight scales, so much so that I use one as a postal scale.
