Scab on my neck keeps reappearing

For over a year now I've had this small bump on the backside of my neck. I think it started as a pimple and ever since it started scabbing it won't go away. The scab comes off with a little peeling action and it'll just scab up again in a few days.

Should I consult a dermo ASAP?

The skin underneath isn't bloody or anything, it looks fine but looks a bit pale compared to the surrounding skin. I'm afraid it could be cancerous 🙁

Depends, could just be from a cyst. I'm not sure I would keep picking the scab off it tho. Try using an antibiotic cream and see what happens.

Its not an open wound anymore; the scab/peelable skin would grow on top of it

does the scab have a bitter, rancid taste, or a mild honey taste? if the scab tastes like honey, it could be a tumor

not to worry, most likely benign

Does the 'scab' look like a typical scab? Are you trying to tell us that you have thin layer of skin growing over spot the 'wound' use to be? You could be a diabetic, do other wounds take a long time to heal?

I agree with the others, leave it alone but seeks some professional advise.

Definitely not like a regular scab, it grows on very thin (not hard like a scab that hardened with blood). I could go on 2 weeks without picking it and the skin/scab would just sit there.

Cysts can have deep roots and last long after the pimple portion is gone.

Make an appt with a dermatologist.

I have one of those on top of my skull, doc said not to worry about it. See
a Dermo though, don't trust untrained persons to diagnose it for you..

I had this...it was a cyst that formed on top of a blood vessel. I went to the doctor and he shaved off the area, then numbed it. Then he took a punk (a stick with a burning end) and burned the area to seal it.

Haven't had a problem since.
