sca converter

I'd like to know as well. I have an 80 pin 146GB 10K HP SCSI Drive in my hands, and the 68 pin adapter just came in the mail today actually. I can't get it to spin up though......WTF!
 
Performance would be normal, but SCA adapters have a big swing in compatibility and stability.

These are the best I've found.

Some cards and most drives have settings about when to spin the drive up. You'll need to check your setup. The drive jumper should be set to spin up on power.
 
its a crap shoot but in general if you get good quality ones theirs no difference than if you had a native 68pin drive.

have you tried the ultra320 SCA converter from scsi4me.com? they claim it to be better than others on the market. just curious because someone suggested that website a while back.

I've not used that model, though it looks like it probably would work. It appears to have extra regulators mounted on it. Their progression of pictures and explanations of the cheaper models is good.
