Is there any difference between the two cards? I see them selling for about the same price. They look the same. Can I use the software for the 5.1 with the non-5.1 card, and get the 5.1 features? Just wondering.

There's no real functionality difference unless you want to acheive 5.1 speakers through seperate sets(as compared to 1 big 5.1 set that can use a DIN). Otherwise, it's all the same.

One thing I want to know is if I can use the drivers for the Value with X-Gamer in WIN ME.The X seems to have a problem with ME because of no ME driver.

The X-Gamer 5.1 has 6 analog outputs and it's DIN is capable of 6 channels as well.

The X-Gamer (non-5.1) has 4 analog outputs and it's DIN is only capable of 4 channels as well.

Both sets can output an AC-3 (Dolby Digital) stream through either a standard RCA plug or the DIN. But this needs a deocder.

The non 5.1 is only capable of 5.1 channels in that encoded Dolby digital mode. It's not 5.1 separate channels for gaming and the like.

The gaming bundles between these two is also significantly different.
I think the non 5.1 has Need for Speed 4, and maybe Descent3 and Thief.
The 5.1 has MDK2, Unreal Tournament, Thief2, and Deus Ex, so depending on what you like, the software bundle alsone may influence your decision.
Hope this helps.
