SBLive! really distorted in UT.

I have an older original SBLive (not value) and the sound gets really distorted in UT when there's alot of gunfire/explosions. i just tried the Win2K drivers off of their site but it didn't help. It all worked perfectly in 98se. Not sure what is going on????
ANy suggestions besides getting a new sound card?

Try turning the main volume and the WAV volume down a bit.

.wav is only set at about 25%. Music, etc. sounds clear as a bell at the same level. It's gotta be something to do with UT or my sound card.
