I was using my Live card just fine, and today after booting, it seems there is no output from the Green Speaker out plug. It only comes out of the black, which is the second output i believe. I looked into the sound properties and everything is unmuted but sound just won't play out of the green (1st output). Can it possibly be a hardware failure? Or more software? This is one of the older cards without the digital outs, been in use for over a year now. I tried reinstalling drivers and that didn't seem to help. Running under win98se btw.

It's most likely the settings in the Audio HQ Speakers area of the SB Live software. Make sure it's set to 4 speaker and not 2 (or some other wierd setting). I've found these settings can get changed somehow (havnt narrowed it down yet, seems to be other audio programs that do it).

Good luck,

The green hole is actually the "speaker" hole and i think the black hole is the the "audio out" hole. Depending on the kind of speakers you have, the volume that comes out of the different holes are different. i'm not too sure of the technical side of this, but in general, both should work. jus different vol levels.

have u tried checking out the settings on the live panel?

hope this helps...

won't believe this but somehow, it just developed an IRQ problem of some sort! I changed pci slots and both jacks work! Kinda odd, but glad it wasn't my live card going bust :) Thanks guys!
