SBLive! Platnium 5.1 Problem (just noticed it)

alright, my sound works perfectly fine... nothing wrong, however when i try to open creative mixer or speaker configuration, i get a dialog box saying "unable to load plugins". I have reinstalled the software multiple times and it does the same thing. Also, when starting RemoteCenter, i get a dialog box as well saying "Error initializing audio device, make sure your sound card is installed properly"

I also know that the livedrive is connected properly, i can get audio out of the headphone jack on it, and when i plug in headphones, the speakers cut out (like they are suposed to)

I've never had that happen to me in a Win9x OS...

Are you installing drivers off the CD or have you downloaded LiveWare 3?

Right off the CD...
its quite annoying... i remember it working when i first installed the drivers way back (about a month ago) i just never tried to do anything with the remote or the mixer until recently.

The CD came with Live! 5.1s all have the newest drivers.

Tis the holdiay for formats... I've formatted 2 machines at my house already this season.

Thats really strange, it could possible be another "Meism" where hardware that should work won't. Do you have a copy of 98SE to try it out on?

Yeah i do, but the reason i went with ME was that it had my network card drivers already in it... i couldnt find them anywhere (Realtek RTL8139(A/B/C/8130) Fast Ethernet) (lost my disk and couldnt find them on the net anywhere)

ugh... (i would GLADLY go back to win98se if i could find those drivers, i HATE HATE HATE winME and Mediaplayer7)

sounds like fun, realtek cards are wierd, i got a bunch of floozy ones from the cable company. . . what else is up intake?

I wouldnt doubt that this is a "me-ism" as you say Radeon... I shall do the ole format c: tonight and replace winME with Win98SE. I just hope it works.. well, im sure even if it dosent work, it will be better than running this bloatware.

ark: never had a problem with the realteks, just a problem finding the drivers until just now. other than that, my ati-tv wonder works, well, wonderful... (just got it yesterday which is the reason i was gonna try getting the remote in the livedrive to work with it) ive finally found a TV card that works properly with my system...

Me doesn't seem to like my PC too much... oh well, big loss. Everytime I install a fresh copy and put my sound and video drivers in, my machine refuses to boot. Take out the video drivers, boots up. Put them back, take out the sound, machine boots. However, Me is so inept to sharing resources that for some reason it cannot run my machine with both drivers. Go figure. 98SE has worked superbly for me, hopefully it will continue to do so.

Hopefully 98SE will work out. I have a set of drivers I downloaded from the creative website that I use. Some of the crap thats on the Retail CDs is nothing but crapware.

ArkAross, Actually were are looking right now for people to come work! wow! hehe... except the all that stuff is in my personal machine back home... not this one. that would be awesome to have all that stuff in this one.

Radeon: thanks for the info, I'll keep it in mind when pulling my hair out tonight when finally, microsoft decides to say "hey! you've installed me too many times, im gonna break your computer for GOOD!"

If MS broke my computer I would be in Redmond CA the next morning at Bill Gates door. I'd pick up every copy of Windows ME along the way and make Bill take it prison style

I formatted over 40 times during the summer of this year (changing hardware, finding that some drivers suck in certain OS's). I formatted 4 times this weekend when I got a virus at a BYOC competition and some dick gave me the "fun love" virus. Heh it walked all over McAfee...

In a half a year when Me gets the majority of attention from developers(when they actually use ME to write their stuff) I'm sure I'll go to it. But until then, ME = SUCK

i' just reformatted for the first time in3 years the other day, didnt need to, wanted to try win2k and linux and multi boot, i like win2k so far, no major probs, dumb thing wasnt asking for a pswrd, now it does, don't know what i did
