SBLive! Driver Update = No Sound??

I have an SBLive! Platnium 5.1, and went to get the latest drivers from Creative. Installed them, totally lost all sound. It also caused me to loose the ability to do anything on the network. No device conflicts I could find. Ideas?

Athalon XP 1600+
512 MB ram Crucial DDR2100
Gainward ti 450 TV (GeForce2)
WD 80GB Special Edition
SoundBlaster Live! Platnium 5.1 running Logitech z560 4.1
Cable @ 2mbps/384kbps
WinXP Pro
Netgear FA311 10/100 Ethernet

First off I would use the XP driver roll back option to go back to the previous driver. If you get your sound back then it is a driver issue.
If your sound card was OK before do you need to update. If you do need to update then double check you have the right file and try again.

rolled back, everything is A-OK. I need the update, it's got a chance at resolving some BF1942 issues. Tried re-install, same result.

Reinstall and go to settings, put all volume controls back to the top and un tick mute.

I had same problem and that is what I found.

When i reinstalled my audigy drivers, it defaulted over to my usb digital out that I use for my minidisc player. If you have anythign like that, go to sound properties int eh control panel and change the device that you use for output.

Did the same thing and had the same problem. Turned out it defaulted to "Digital Output Only" mode in the settings. Unticked that and all was well again.

I had the exact opposite problem, it unticked the "Digital Output Only" mode in settings and I lost all sound after upgrading the drivers. Go figure! I really hope the drivers for the Audigy 2 series have improved since the Live! series.
