Is Jan. 5 the official release date for US sales of SB? I know this is when Intel will announce it, but will it be on shelves at the same time? Anyone in retail that would know for certain? I have not seen any pre-ordering available from any reputable retailer or any date for that matter.

01/09/2011 is supposed to be the official "Release Date" for the Sandy Bridge processors.

I just find it a bit strange that the "release date" would be on a Sunday. But I suppose it saves me the trouble of taking the day off from work.

I'm curious as to when we'll start seeing widespread availability of the MOBOs, same day?

I imagine newegg has them and just has them restricted off the site.

They've been at Fry's for ~2 weeks.

Nice. I'm more concerned with the e-tailers, Amazon and Newegg. Looking for the Asus P8P67 Deluxe, I see some people selling them, but not too sure on the retailer so waiting on the big names to come out with it.

Was able to order a Gigabyte P67A-UD3P from Amazon yesterday. This is the first big retailer to offer it in the US (that I could find). It should be at my house on Thursday.

Still no CPUs available however. :(
