watching things while playing games is totally different then actually transcoding them
if you are actually transdocing video while playing games then well i find that pretty strange
I understand that but as I understand it quicksync also handles decoding as there is a lot of crossover between the two processes, so what I was saying is if I want to watch a high bitrate 1080p movie while playing a game (and yes this situation has come up my current computer can't hack it) it would be a *major* plus to know a lot of the load of the decoding was being handed to dedicated hardware leaving more cpu/gpu power for game stability. While I have no doubt SB can handle 1080p decoding while gaming it would have an impact on game performance
these Z68's are sounding tempting especially if this obscure SSD caching turns out to be useful, I really wanted to get my new computer in Q1 at *latest* march...but if during CES we find out full details on Z68's and hopefully a month of release that's not june >_< I might consider getting one if it's more like april release or so...but there would have to be some good features to justify the wait..
I for one would *love* something implemented like optimus (was it optimus?) where if your just on desktop nothing fancy it powers off your discreet card/s and switches to onboard...that would personally be a big sell for me
there's also hydra which I'm sure will be on some Z68 boards though I wouldn't be surprised if there was basically no performance increase from it
either that or i'll cave and grab my sandy bridge the second G3 SSD's hit the market
oh and on someones comment before about AMD..I haven't been following it much but can we expect full details on their launch this month (or at CES?) cause while I doubt they're lineup will interest me given what I'm aiming for with my system they've been known to surprise plenty of times in the past and I'm not stupid enough to feel loyalty towards a corporation

just go with whoever has the best product
