SB Live! - latest driver problem

Anyone out there updated to the latest driver for the SB Live! running under WinXP? These drivers are 100% certified for XP.

I gave them a try, and at first everything seemed fine. There seemed to be tons of new features and adjustments added. I wasn't having any real problems with the old one's, but I always like to try the latest ones (as long as they're not beta). The problem I had was when playing any streaming audio or MP3's, I couldn't get any sound to the rear speakers. (I use a quadraphonic set up - front PC speakers and rear goes to my Dolby digital receiver for my home theater). The strange thing is I can play Divx files without a problem. And when doing a speaker test through the SB software, everything is fine.

I know it's not a codec problem, because Everything plays fine through the front (PC speakers). I had to "roll back" to the older drivers, and now everything is back to normal.

Any ideas? (besides "keep the old ones😉)

😕I downloaded them also but started hearing an occasional "pop" on my creative speakers and sound blast live! I just rolled it back on XP pro=no mo "pops"

I didn't notice that problem, but I only had them installed for a few days. I love the "roll back" feature on XP. I've used it several times without a problem. Makes trying out different drivers a snap.

Anyone else notice other problems with these "certified":disgust: drivers?

I see there's a sizeable number of responses for the "Audigy" driver update; anyone have any problems like the one's here with SB Live!?
