SB LIVE! have problems with win2k... HELP

I am running the lastest drivers from creative, as I am coming back from a fresh format... I have all kinds of static... it sounds horrible does anyone know if this is an easy to fix problem... I am running win2k sp 2... I think part of the problem is when I was installing the Service Pack my computer lost power... HELP PLEASE!!!!
