SB Audigy problems...

I don't get any output to the rears for my sound card.... got Audigy platinum on WIN2K and I have played with teh settings... is there a chance that I don't have it installed correctly despite it showing up in device manager and sound coming our for the fronts... when i o to upgrade the drivers to latest ones it says it could not detect any installed audigysound card... what is that?

Oh and BTW I have Logitech Z-560s and I hooked up the cords correctly to frotn and rear outputs... I disabled M3D and it still won't work

I don't know if this works for you, but I did for me. I realized that sound wasn't coming out the rear speakers of my Inspire and I couldn't figure it out until I realized that maybe I had to select quadrophonic speaker set up in windows audio devices in the control panel.

Go to Creative's Site and Download the latest drivers... Audigy Drivers

I had the same problem, rear speakers not working, then I d-loaded the latest drivers and the rear speakers began working form me. I'm running Win 2k Pro, fyi.

Good Luck.

I can't get any sound for my headphones other than the jack in the drive bay for the head phones (this on the audigy platinum...)

I just get a bunch of static for the digital out... does this mean something's wrong or headphones can't be used for the digital jack?

Thanks...

Plug it into the microphone jack right next to the line out. I think the digital jack is for the last subwoofer on the Inspire 5300.

I plugged the jack into every single hole in the sound blaster audigy...

static on the digital port, and all the other ones I didn't get anything...

I guess I can live with the fact that I have to use the drive bay in front, but, It would be nice to hook something else up in the back.

Reinstall your drivers, the ones on the CD, then do the upgrade thing.
I had the same problem and creative says to reinstall the drivers.
I went into my bios and disabled my serial ports and put it on IRQ 10 and problems disappeared.

Nevermind, I figured it out...

I went into the sound control, clicked on advanced, then turned off digital output only, and bam.. it worked 🙂

nifty...

I've tried all combinations of the jacks in the back for the speakers and I've disabled com2 and therefore the system put IRQ 3 for SB Audigy and D-Link NIC. Uninstalling D-Link NIC doesn't do anything... disabling it while physically installed in teh system doesn't work either. I am gonna try the reinstall drivers thing right now and i'll let you know if that works... hope it does.

Dang... driver reinstall did not work... the audigy upgrade for drivers still thinks my audigy card is not present int eh system but i wonder if it will even look at irq3 at all since that is not a standard irq to have open for a PCI card... maybe i'll try forcing it to another IRQ... hate to have my FastTrak 100 TX2 controller card with RAID 0 that is cooking right now share an IRQ qith anything else for performance purposes so i might not put it on IRQ 10 but maybe I'll do 7 or 9... I really really really hope this works otherwise I'm more or less up the crapper creek.

Anybody helse have anything else to add or any other ideas?

Hmm you can always try it in a different PCI slot as a last resort, btw mine works fine in my Epox 8KHA+ board.

Me too, just got on Monday too on an EP-8KHA+ as well. I shoved it into the 5th pci slot... but the rear speakers wouldn't sound, but fooling around with windows settings, audigy config, and audigy drivers, I somehow got it to work. Weird, 🙂

First I'm gonna try pulling it out (after a complete software and drivers uninstallation) and then booting up without it and then booting up with it... I'll remove all codecs in there device manager relating to sound (I beleive there shouldn't be any) then shut down and put it back in the 3rd PCI slot and reinstall drivers... hopefully it will work otherwise it means I have to move the card to the 4th or 5th and take out the NIC card in either slot and put that NIC card in the 3rd slot. I don't want to use the 1st slot since My asus GF3Ti200 gets a bit warmer with a card in teh first slot and I want the highest priority card to be the Promise fasttrak100 TX2 card which is in teh 2nd pci slot... i figure at least the card in teh lowest pci slot number gets highest priority. unfortuantely I can't use the 6th slot due to teh antec sx635case having a slight problem fitting a card int eh 6th and bottom most slot on the case... i could cut that metal piece out but then the frame will be more prone to buckling... I HOPE THIS WORKS... at least it seems teh KT266A doesn't have the same problem with its south bridge chipset and a Creative surround sound card... so there has to be a solution that works... i would think that the sound card was bad but the stereo sound works just fine right now... oh well off to try that...

Anybody else have any ideas? Please?!
