Just bought a external hdd. It shows that there is 174 gigs of unused space, but when I try to move the file over it says there is not enough disk space. Any ideas on what is going wrong? Thanks

If it's formatted FAT32, the largest allowed file size is 4 Gig. FAT is limited to 2 Gig files.

You need to format the external drive to the NTFS file system. Check your documentation. RTFM!!!
