Would it be a good idea to Buy as much Ford stock as possible, or sell?

What do you think?

Where did you hear it at? cause that is the buzz word going on all of UAW channels.

Anyway, here is what I know.

Mr. Ford announced that there will be a Big Announcement on Friday that is supposed to shock the world.

The buzz is Toyota is going to buy 30% of Ford.

There are a couple other things that it might be, but are less likely. Some say that Ford is going to roll off its powertrain to visteon, like it did with visteon in 2000. Others say a Ford-Toyota merger, and few believe that Toyota is going to out-right buy Ford.

ive heard a lot of different things as well, like both companies were basically buying up eachothers stock to protect from backstabbing eachother.

Ive also heard that Daimler Chrysler was buying a huge chunk of Mitsubishi?

NO

I think its that Ford is going Formula One Racing. They are taking back the Jaguar branding with the current F1 team and replacing that brand with Ford. Thats it.

I work for the securities side of a bank. and it was overheard from a "friend of a friend" type when my co-worker was working with a big time trader in downtown Richmond.

I can look it up, but I'm too lazy to log into Beta Quotes back-office. If I were you, I'd sell everything and buy Ford stocks now, and sell the day after announcement.

I think the big announcement will be that the their Jaguar F1 racing team will be called FordF1 from now on. And maybe, just maybe, Ford might put some money into the team to make it competitive.

as for Toyota buying Ford, they tried to have a merger with them TWICE in the past, and everytime, Ford backed out of the deal. It seems Toyota really wants to be with Ford for some reason. I guess having access to their PAG parts-bin would be sweet.

GM and Toyota do sell a couple of cross-platform cars (matrix/vibe, maybe a couple of others). I doubt this would have strong implications for a potential merger with another company though.

That's true. Ford has historically been tied to Mazda, iirc.

Isn't that called "insider trading"? Say hi to Martha for me.
