I'm not one to complain about gas prices, but with a 150 mile per day commute this is gonna hurt.

At 4 bucks a gallon my weely gas for work will be $160/week.

I'm right there with you. 147 miles per day. 🙁

Big deal, your Canadian neighbours to the north have been paying above $4 a gallon for quite some time now.
And they have free healthcare/education.

I wouldn't call it free, we are taxed to death for it.
I net nearly 50% of what my gross paycheque is.. it's absolutely sick.

A guy I work with has a lifted 4x4 Chevy 2500 crew cab, he gets about 12mpg and he just spent $71 to fill his tank the other day. One tank lasts him a little less than a week.

One of my friends drives a massive lifted 4x4 Chevy Mid-1980's truck. This thing has 12" worth of lift and 37" tires I believe.

He gets 6-8 mpg. He has to fill up once every three or four days..

And they have free healthcare/education. I'd pay $1/gallon more for the same.
You're just full of contradictions, aren't you?
Hunh? How is that a contradiction?
Bolded.

Ok...I used the wrong word. Nationalized healthcare/education.

Happy now?
