I wonder how many people who said they loved this movie are Indian. Personally, I hated the movie. Couldn't wait for it to end.

Haven't seen it so far. Doesn't look like a movie that I'd wanna pay to go watch it.

Saw a review copy over the weekend. Liked it a lot, but wasn't in love with it like many others. maybe I wasn't in the right mood, maybe too much distraction around, but I honestly didn't connect with the characters as I do with my favorite films. I honestly didn't think it was particularly unique or special, thought it was still compelling.

Maybe it's in comparison to so much crap that comes out in the Bollywood genre that SDM being a non-Bollywood film coming out of India has people digging it so much? I don't know...silly suggestion, sure, but it's certainly the best thing I've seen to come out of India in quite some time, but it's not the best film I've seen all year.

It didn't need the last scene - it should have ended with the phone conversation and him giving the final answer. Great film though.

Just saw it this weekend, loved it. My only complaint was that it felt a little long, slow in places but there was far more good than bad. Music was incredible !

(I am not Indian)

I just saw this 2 nights ago, followed by Gran Torino last night. This movie was awesome! I thought how they put together the story, the camera work, and the work of the little children there to be brilliant.
Slumdog Millionaire >>> Gran Torino

Just saw it. I think it's one of those movies I'm liking more and and more the more I think about it. I wasn't on the edge of my seat as I watched or anything, but I was definitely grinning pretty wide by the end.

And holy jesus Latika was hot...:Q

Bump, because I just saw the movie this weekend, and I don't see how anyone could hate it.
It was clever, eye opening, and kept me interested every single minute of the 2 hours it lasted.

If you haven't seen it, find a way.

I gave it a 7. It was done well but the premise was formulaic. It won so many awards because people are suckers for hope, especially during hard times (eg. global economy in the shitter). And its real attention-grabbing feature, kids in the slums, was done in 2002 by City of God. But that was in Portugese, so NO OSCAR FOR YOU!. I won't call Boyle a thief... but that's because I'm being nice.

I'd give it a 7 or so...it was "ok", but I really didn't love it- which surprised me.
