I understood it, and that part was over the top. It would have been perfectly fine to end it with him encased in ice, or atleast have some other less strange ending.

Yeah, that's kind of the biggest revelation of the movie - the ending.

The importance of the andoids finding davide and seeing his memories is a huge discovery for them. Kind of like us finding the "missing link" and being able to talk and study it.

that would have been ok, my main gripe is the adding of a narrator to the end.
