This was a newer Chevy Trailblazer and it was resting comfortably on it's side. Firetruck and ambulance were on scene so I'm assuming there were injuries. No other vehicles involved that I could see. Roof was caved in partially and all sides were dented so I'm assuming it rolled more than once.

I wonder why people still think these vehicles are safer than cars.

Well, in the interest of fairness, it's not like they just roll over of their own volition.

No, but they are definitely more prone to rolling over than a car.

Seems a bit shortsighted to say that said person only bought said vehicle for safety. Did you buy your motorcycle for safety purposes?

When someone buys an SUV, there are a multitude of reasons. Why pick the "safer" reason and pretend that's the only reason they are around?

I don't know why anyone buys motorbikes when CLEARLY they put you at more risk to death & injury. They have their intended purposes, but also their negative traits. Oh that's right, so do SUVs.

EDIT> I love responding to Jules' ignorances. I don't know why people are still surprised at his point of views.

i've seen someone die falling off a cliff on his motorcycle. i've also seen someone fall off their motorcycle and broke 20 bones after being hit by a car. they're not safe either.

because people are stupid?

Its because all these people drive giant suvs with huge blind spots so they can't see anything smaller than a trailblazer. In my compact car i have been smashed into twice by retards in suvs in the past year and a half, meanwhile in my pathfinder, which i have been driving since I was 15, has yet to be in an accident. On top of being plowed into i have also been nearly run off the road and crushed by soccer mom's in hummers who shouldn't be aloud to walk around without a helmet, let alone drive a vehicle that is half tank. I think the next person in an suv that plows into my compact car is going to get a baseball bat to the head. Its time to start helping evolution along.

I guarantee you my X5 is a better car to be in over a mid-size car if a big truck hits me

These issues always boil down to the driver FAR more than the vehicle. A bad driver is as equally capable of rolling a SUV as a bad rider is capable of dropping his bike. Synonymous. Driver ability and competency play the key factors in any accident outside weather and other environmental variables, and even those can be controlled by driver ability and competency simply taking the necessary precautions for the situation.

I don't drive around with my family on the back of my motorcycle.

Besides, I never said motorcycles were safer than cars.

Tip over? Are those safer than rollovers?

I did notice that both sides were damaged as was the roof. This leads me to believe that the vehicle did, in fact, roll over at least once.

Ahh, I was wondering how long it would take my own personal AT stalker to show up.

I didn't state any point of view in this thread. I merely made an observation and posed a question.

I figured you'd be in here attacking me though.

LOL playing mr. innocent. Are you serious? You start more flame-threads with your wrong opinions (yes, I said that) than anyone around these parts. We all respond to it yet you never take any of it in. This is why you are ignorant and need to be repeatedly told as such. Want me to link to the big one again?

Link all you want stalker boy.

I think rationally debating the merits of SUV safety is a topic worthy of discussion. It was a valid question.

You're the one turning this into a flame-fest.

Were the driver and occupants dead?

Beats me. I was driving and didn't want to take my attention away from the road long enough to check it out.

No, you just ride around alone and if something happens, you leave your family behind. I guess you are a selfish person and really don't think about others or you would avoid such a dangerous activity.

Oh tell me you're innocent of baiting. Tell me you pose innocent questions... when you do this sort of thing... not to mention throw shots in every other post. What happened to your anti-SUV brigade sig? No matter how many responses there are, YOU SIMPLY DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT. Then more of these come along.

What about a thread like this that comes to mind. Ahh, not surprisingly there you are in your first response using numbers to show sports cars are fewer while not addressing the actual question. Then you finish off with "I don't own an SUV or a sports car, I own 2 family sedans, a fullsize and a midsize" to show how impartial you are while conveniently leaving out the Rodeo you disliked and numerous sports cars you've owned in the past.

I got bored with it months ago. Figured you would have noticed right away.

Flame away though if it makes you feel better about yourself.

^ I know I edited it in, but don't neglect to respond cunningly to my 2nd paragraph.
