Saw a Porsche Panamera today

It's actually a damn fine looking car in person. This vehicle just doesn't photograph well at all. In front, it kinda reminded me of a corvette a bit (was looking in my rear view mirror) until I realized when it was passing me that no... this was no corvette, hehe.

Anyway, I thought the car was hideous, but it's actually pretty sexy.

Yep, I have seen two recently...and not bad at all!

A friend of mine in California just bought a 911 Targa 4S and is about to buy his wife a Panamera 4S. Can't wait to give it a spin next time I am out there.

I've seen a couple. Looks great. Good to see aerodynamics return to car design. All 4 door cars should be fastbacks like this.

I've seen one at our local Audi/Porsche dealer. It doesn't look bad from the front...but the profile/rear is just fugly. It didn't help that it was some tan/brown exterior color. The interior is badass though. The car stickered at $122k...I can think of a lot of cars I'd rather have for that much.

i've seen one in person on the road and it looks terrible.

seriously in the VAG portfolio even there are much nicer cars. .... like the S8.

You know, I saw one this morning heading into my lab and I felt the other way about it. Besides it being a turbo model and stupid fast it was completely unappealing to me. The first thought I had was "man for that money I could have a GTR and my legacy gt....and I'd be way more satisfied with them over that thing"

its horrible, and as a current porsche owner i will NEVER buy this car.

when it first came out they had a porsche dirving event at Candle Stick park, had a chance to drive all variants of this car, drives pretty well but it is SOOOO UGLY (IMO).

I'm so incredibly torn on this car. Yes it looks better in person than in pictures, but that really doesn't take much and it is still ugly. Yet it does it's job so well it is hard for me not to love it.

Saw one a few days ago, It was behind me, I saw the 4 LEDS in the lights, I am like is that the new VW Bettle? I gave it some gas and saw the porche logo, I was like hmm that must be the panamera. I changed lanes let it pass and yup it was lol.

Can an ass end that looks that bad in pictures actually look good in person? I have yet to see a Panamera, but I have my doubts.

Sure you "let" it pass. More like it passed you and you couldn't do anything about it. 😉
The front half of the car is awesome. The back half is nasty.
It's like a fat chick with a pretty face.

EFF U Glee!

But then again, Porsche doesn't make a single good looking vehicle. Last one they had was the GT.

I agree, I think they're a bit ugly but that's judging only from pics. What's even uglier is the price tag!

While they're quick, they're not stupid fast - especially the non-turbo. The standard one runs high 12s/13 flat and the turbo runs high 11s/12 flat. I guess the term is subjective but I consider a car quick once it runs a 13 sec 1/4, a fast car is in the 10s. Sub-10 sec is a 'seal clubber' as it's pretty much going to club you like you're a baby seal. Still not to take anything away from Porsche as those are very respectable times for a 4300lbs car, but it's nowhere near being outside the realm of possibility of someone swatting one down.

Considering this car competes with BMW 760li and MB S62, the price tag and performance is top notch.

People forget this isn't a sports car. This is a BIG sedan that goes stupid fast.

The prejudice in this thread is why automobile aerodynamics are getting stuck in a rut. You give a sedan a sportscar fastback for a big drag reduction, and the average joe parrots that "hatchbacks are dreadful" crap.

I love hatchbacks...but this thing has an ugly rump...no two ways around it. Even Jennifer Lopez doesn't know what to make of it.

The turbo model gets an integrated spoiler that comes up at speed and makes the rear look like a big butt wearing a visor.

lulz!

I hate the backend of this car. Saw one recently near where I live and can't help but think it looks like a longer version of a hatchback civic.

I very recently took a trip to my local Porsche dealership to have a little browse around the showroom and saw my first Panamera up close. I'm sorry, but the car looks like ass.

I also got up close and personal with the best car to ever grace this planet, the Porsche Carrera GT, and damn - I NEED SO DAMN MUCH!
