saw a Bugatti Veyron last night in person.

Drove through Los Gatos, CA last night on our way to see the Christmas lights in the park. Driving past Silicon Valley Auto Group, my fiancee screamed out "Bugatti!" I did a u-turn and we parked to admire it through the showroom glass. First time I've seen one in real life. It's more beautiful than in pics or on TV, where it looks kind of bulbous or gaudy. In person, it looks like a space ship from a 1930's comic book. 🙂

Cell phone pic, poor quality

They had tons of cars by Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Lotus, Bentley, Rolls Royce, etc, but another super-rare car that caught my eye was the Noble:

That was also the first time I've seen one of those in person.

I saw one almost a year ago in Greenwich, CT, looked awesome.

All the fancy dealerships are here, Ferrari, Aston, Rolls, Lambo.

I wouldn't be buying a car like that from that particular dealership. Who keeps $200,000 exotics out in the open night in the middle of winter?

Just thinking of a Ferrari encased in morning frost makes me want to vomit.

I don't know if I would even if I had the money. Personally, I'd rather have a Ferrari Enzo.

Even if I had that much money I wouldn't buy one.... I'd be afraid of it getting stolen or scratched or something.

I'd buy a nice 4th gen fbody, mod the crap out of it, and pocket the rest!

Right there is my thoughts exactly. The insurance would be killer, and god forbid the paint gets a small ding in it.

I'd rather put my money into something that doesn't have so many potential money pits.

But, it is a nice exclusive car.

Then why buy a car at all???

I agree, the Bugatti has much more presence in person than in pictures.

That's a Noble M12 GTO-3R. There are a bunch in CA actually.

That is pretty impressive. I only know 1 other guy who knows what a Bugatti is. And I know 1 guy who's into motorcycles and thinks I'm making a mistake and should be saying "Ducatti".

And most of the women I know couldn't tell a Honda from a Ford without reading the badges. There is one woman I know who likes McLaren SLRs, but I think she's mostly a gold digger.

Congratulations on finding a chick who's into cars!

I definitely would not buy the Bugatti. God is it ugly... I don't care how fast it goes, it looks like a hotwheels. And not the good hotwheels, the ones that they have out now.

I would definitely buy an Enzo over it any day. But given a choice, I wouldn't buy either of them. Probably an Audi.

Top Gear is a weekly ritual for us. 😀

Her favorites to see are the 911 Turbo/GT3, Bugatti Veyron, Jaguar XKR, Lotus Elise/Exige, any Lamborghini, and the Audi RS6 Avant. Probably some I'm forgetting. She can tell you the difference between an open and limited-slip diff, the difference between a supercharger and a turbocharger, and she prefers to drive a manual transmission.

Of course, not all is perfect. She absolutely forbids me to purchase a used Miata for a cheap weekend car. Too "girly," she says. "S2000 or nothing, and I WILL leave you over this." 😉
