Saving to FTP..

I just got a macbook and I'm trying to save all of my files to my ftp server so that I can access them through my laptop or desktop.

I connect to my ftp through GO >> CONNECT TO SERVER..

from there, I try to save files to my ftp but it says that I can't modify the folder. I tried enable the sharing permission for it but no go..

So, if someone could point me in the right direction to save my files to my ftp server, it would be much appreciated.

Personally, I have nothing but trouble using finder for anything other than files on my MacBook itself. I've never had much luck with any networked connection in finder, whether it be FTP/SFTP/AFP, etc... They usually work for me, but are almost always way too slow for any normal usage.

I would stick with a free ftp client like Cyberduck or Filezilla.
