The whole idea of Democratic reform exists because there exists a Democratic institution within the US in the first place and is not some attempt to alter the Government type from Republic to Democratic. IOW, your whole arguement is based on a false premise, that is that the US is a Republic form and not a Democratic form and as such there is no Democracy to speak of. There is, but you are too caught up on a word to see it.

Just so you know, this country doesn't elect its president via popular vote. It elects its presidents via electoral college and the electoral college doesn't vote based on popular vote. Go find a copy of the united states constitution and If you can find for me anywhere where it says this country is a democracy I will paypal you $100 US.

For the record I could care less about the word democracy. I do however care about the idea of an entire goverment being ruled by the people. There are way too many eligable voters that are either clinicly retarded or that know less english than I do spanish.

That being said I am not a racist. I love every american brown, black, white or whatever. As long as a person pays taxes, contributes to the economy, speak english, and is willing to die for this country I will consider that person my fellow american.

I'm well aware about the Electoral College, but that's a moot point.

Though you say you're not caught up on the word "Republic"(which is the word I was implying), your posts indicate quite the opposite. You keep dismissing any notion of Democracy, because the US is a Republic. However, it is not a Republic in the way you use the term. It is both.

Yep, you managed to hijack the thread, congratulations. Now back to the OT which is discussing what scumbags the Republicans are...

The Republicans sure are scumbags.
