saving streamed media?

I was wondering if there was any way to save media that was streamed off a website on your computer. I have both Windows Media Player and Real Player. Can anyone tell me if theres a way of doing this? I know there is a 'save as' feature under the File menu in WMP but it is always blocked out. Is there some way to get around this?

I've come across 2 programs that have worked in the past. Streambox VCR and NetTransport. For .mov files, if you have Quicktime Pro, you can save them after the entire clip is played/loaded from the player itself. All other formats, when streamed, should need a 3rd party client like the aforementioned to grab. Sometimes, though you will need to acquire the URL of the video source manually through the page view source (which can always be reached - just gotta be a bit clever).

A simple search should reveal where you can get the 2 apps.
