I'm changing motherboards, hard drive and want to save my windows, favourites, outlook express addresses, and ICQ numbers.
I can save them to a removeable harddrive, cd-r or via a network. I also have ghost which I have not yet used.
Any suggestions on the easiest way to save this info and where is it in the programs?

Favorites = c:\windows\favorites
ICQ = c:\program files\icq\2000a ( or whatever version you have )
Outlook = File->Export->Address Book

Just backup like that and you will be fine.
*Note: for ICQ, when you reinstall windows, just reinstall ICQ. Then, when it is not running, copy the files that you saved back overtop of the new ones that the install creates.

Just to add my bit on ICQ:

With all ICQ versions you have to register again online with your uin. My experience is that this (re-)registration process with ICQ9x will overwrite the old database folder contents (uin.idx etc). So, with ICQ9x register again first, close ICQ, then copy the database folder back into the ICQ directory.

With ICQ2000 there is no aforementioned overwriting. Just copy the 2000a folder to the ICQ folder, register, then chat away :).

Hope this makes sense ;).
