Saving/Opening files in XP

Why is it that some files you can open directly without saving it to your computer and sometimes you don't have a choice to open it, it makes you save it? Anyone else notice this? Thanks.

Hmm...hasn't happened to me. Do you recall checking off "do the same for this file" or something like that? Welcome to the forums, but you should post this topic in the Operating Systems forums because this is not a hardware issue 😀
