If you're thinking about ordering from these guys, you should know that this forum is full of horror stories about orders that took months to arrive, or never came at all.

And many people have ordered many items at WHN with 100% satisfaction, myself included. There is no retailer--e or otherwise--with 100% customer satisfaction.

Caveat emptor? Of course. Same as any other store.

Yes, Peeps, every online retailer has problems, but WHN has had more than its share. Many of us tried ordering Dreamcasts from them back when they had a great deal, and I don't know of anyone who was ever actually able to get their order. I waited eight weeks on shipment of a Dreamcast game. I finally got it, though by then the price had dropped at other retailers.

(Plus, I just checked, and they're selling several Dreamcast games for $34.99 that have since dropped to $19.99 everywhere...)

Of course, after one year, they finally sent one of the two I ordered...

The problem with anecdotal information is that it's limited to what you've personally observed. Case in point: You don't know anybody who received a Dreamcast from WHN, making WHN, in your experience, a bad company to do business with. Fair enough.

But now you know somebody who got one. Me.

I got one within a couple of weeks of ordering. Considering the demand and, to be fair, the inability of any other online retailer to deliver one on time (at full MSRP, no less), I think WHN did a heck of a job filling orders. In fact, I encouraged several of my co-workers to order one. Each received theirs within a few weeks, as well. Not one of them complained about the service or the price.

Based on MY anecdotal information, WHN is the cat's ass. That's why it's important not to take every opinion expressed here--including mine--as gospel. People need to make up their own minds.

I was with them since they first started up and all I can say is they SUCK!. Canceled orders and just plain nonshipment, I gave up on them long ago. BEWARE

I had a couple orders dated around December 1999, still haven't seen a glimmer of it yet. They might be better off these days, but it seems that they lack a real-time inventory system - so they end up selling a lot of stuff they just don't have on them (and might never get again). If they upgrade their inventory system, they might become a descent store

During their 50% sale two weeks ago, I ordered 5 Dreamcast games, a Dreamcast SVHS cable, and 3 controllers for around $100 and I got everything in less than a week. I had also ordered a $99 Dreamcast, but they were out of stock and sent me a nice email about it.

My son and I are quite satisfied.
