Hey guys,

I just wanted to see if anyone else had been in this same predicament and could offer any golden nuggets on how to handle this.

So it was July 3rd and me and a couple buddies went to go fishing and camping at this beach as we had done the two past years with no problems.

However this year, the "park manager came down and saw us camping (which was "prohibited") and revoked my permit on the spot and asked us to leave. We had already had a couple drink which I also think was prohibited, so I was struggling to figure out if it was better to stay or to possibly get a DUI. It was also the 4th and seeing the fireworks was just too important...so we stayed=D

So the next morning I was given a trespassing ticket at a local beach for parking in the "fisherman's parking lot" which requires a PERMIT which I had had until it was revoked.

I have a summons to appear in court with this next month and I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with this? What are the repercussions and if a lawyer should be hired...

Also a lawyer paypal fund is open for any donations. =DDDD jk
The park manager was the guy behind all the calls to the police and was being real unreasonable- Man even the cops felt bad for us when he gave me the ticket- which is why he didn't slap all my buddies with a ticket-

Well any help would be cool, thanks for reading

LOL
Suck it up and pay the ticket. Why would you hire a lawyer? Did you trespass and not obey the law? You comitted a crime and got busted.

trespassing "ticket"?!

Isn't trespassing usually something more of a misdemeanor, rather than just a ticket?

What's the actual charge? Is there just a $50 fine or something and you go on your merry way, or is this an actual charge against you that's going to end up on your record - forever?

I was under the same impression as DrPizza.

If you recieved a summons, it sounds more like a misdemeanor to me, but I know little about American Law.

If its a misdemeanor, then I would hire a lawyer. Did you move the car to the beach the next morning?

thats the thing! I don't know- I think it is a summons, but there is a plead guilty and plead non guilty to this ticket and I am not sure if this will end up on a permanent record or if its just a misdemeanor- If it is the latter, I would be on my merry way and go pay it but I am not sure and well I want to make sure I know what I am getting myself into. it says it is a Uniform Ticketon top...does that mean anything? Thanks for the replies

In CA, trespass without priors = infraction (i.e. ticket/fine). With priors, it may be bumped to a misdo.

In CA, the usual charge in $100 + penalty and assessment fees for a total for $300-350 depending on county.

Usually, both require a summons/court appearance
