Have a letter sent to the white house in favor of protecting the environment

No need to start a flame war or have this thread cr@pped on by people who don't care about the environment/disagree with the sentiment of the web sites. I just ask that you go to the web sites and have a letter sent if you would like to support the campaign to protect the environment.

Please do not turn this into a huge debate about the environment, we have enough of those.

Just give this thread a bump every now and again and show some support. :)

While I agree with many things they are fighting for, I don't think I'll sign on, or send any letters after digging deeper..................

They are also against fishing and hunting and are active in most states along with other organizations attempting to end fishing and hunting privlages nationwide.:( Why can't there be a focused group whose long term goals are not to take away fishing and hunting rights but simply to protect those species which need protection????

I'm also concerned with the fact that S.O.E. had a hand in what was almost a catastrophe concerning the Sequoia's (sp?) in CA with wildfire...............for years the forst floor had been cleaned of debris to protect it from being so vulnerable to the possibility of fire, but, S.O.E. along with several other organizations filed suit to stop the annual "cleaning" and the results were almost catastrophic just within the past few weeks............:( Now it seems they reallize they were wrong and apologized for jeprodizing the 1000 yr.+ old forrest and will allow the forrest floor to be cleaned from now on..................

People like these have to understand that just because something like cleaning the forrest floor is done, and changes "nature"...........sometimes it is to protect nature itself..................same way with hunting and fishing.............people whom abuse the privilage are idiots and should be punished........but..............many more of us respect nature and use hunting and fishing as an outlet to enjoy it!:)

ToBeMe, very valid points and I agree with you. However, read the letters/emails/faxes that they can have sent on your behalf, pretty good stuff.

Thank you to all who have been kind and respectful of this post.

I am getting tired of all the thread crapping, in this thread and others.

Be polite, or be somewhere else. We have plenty of vacations and bans for those who cannot understand what this means.

Quote from the linked site...

Behind closed doors and away from public view, the Bush Administration is allowing big corporations to weaken our nation's environmental laws, so they can put more pollution in our air, put more poison in our water, cut down our national forests, damage our public lands, and make taxpayers, rather than polluters, foot the bill for cleaning up toxic wastes. I don't even think i need to risk a mod imposed vacation by making my own comments on this sort of rhetoric. The words speak for themselves, and tell volumes about the people who wrote it, and those who believe them.
