So, how do you feel now that the Republicans own the Fed Gov?

<--- voted all over the spectrum. Republican, Democrat, Inependant, whoever I thought would do the best job, not what party they belonged to. I even left some empty because I had no clue who to vote for, or because I was not following the race. I got one hell of a look when I was taught how to run my ballot though the scantron machine. My town is probably 90% republican.

I'm actually quite ok with it. I'm not the completly apathetic voter, but each party has their own agenda.

I voted a straight GOP ticket with one exception. McBride for Gov. I voted to keep all current judges on the appeals cicruit. I've seen them in action personally and I thought they were very competent and fair in their decision.

Yes on pregnant pigs
No on classroom size amendments (more kids in a class give teachers someone else to aim for)
Yes on prohibito fumar
Yes on death penalty
Yes on preschool
Yes on Board of Trustees for Universities

I didnt like the Bush 3.0 stance on education. I can honestly say that the FL system sucks. Reason? I graduated.

In FL, we didnt have much of a choice at all. Mostly a 2 party system. Very few independents.

Check this out for state rep. Ex-cop incumbent (R) or former (arguably) pothead. Pic

I think I could have gotten more votes than her if I ran for office, although that dosent really say much.

And I had a similar look. I never voted before.

My question is did you vote a straight ticket because you thought the canadates were the best for the job over their opponents, or because the subscribe to the same general ideas as you?

Yes on pregnant pigs
I assume that was for your area only? ( and WTF does that mean? :) ) Either that, or I was really out of it.

No on classroom size amendments (more kids in a class give teachers someone else to aim for)
This must have been for your area. I assume you voted "no" meaning let the classes get bigger? ( I think that is what you mean by your comment, but not sure ) If that is true, I disagree with ya. The smaller they are the better IMHO. I allways got more out of a smaller class. I had the privlege ( ya right, it still sucked ) of going to the second best school district in the state. the classes were 28-38, and we still had big ass trailers for added classes and students. Bah.

I saw when that was posted earlier, I was LMAO!

I bet crusty the clown got more votes. I wrote him in for Gov, since the one we have now is corrupt, and the one who was running against him didn't look any better.

It was only my 3rd time. I must admit I voted for W. He was better than Gore IMHO. Hell, a rock would have been better than Gore. A guy who actually goes to a chalk board to add an "e" after "potato" that a student wrote, is too stupid to be Presedent. Of course, this is coming from me, a guy who miss spelled "we" wrong 7 yes, 7 times wrong on a paper in College. I couldn't figure out why the spellchecker kept coming up with it. I even added "whe" to the dictionary

I thought their ideas were good and they were better than the alternative *cough*pothead*cough*.

"A state constitutional amendment to forbid keeping pregnant pigs in cages -- one of several U.S. ballot measures advanced by the animal rights movement and a potential blow to the commercial hog farming industry -- was headed for approval by 55 percent to 45 percent with 84 percent of the vote counted. "

I wanted larger class sizes so they could focus on putting kids in something OTHER than a double wide trailer. Lord knows enough of them grow up in one around here....

I'm seriously considering public office now. A pothead got.....16,561, 33% vs the ex cop and a state senator ran unopposed.

I wonder how voters would take to a pissed off youth that ferengis with the best of them.

I voted for a 12% increase in property tax for the school district. Of course, I don't own property in the district :p It was defeated handily though. I am really pissed off that a 100% raise in tax $ for the firefighters did not go through. The $ per capita in my city has got to be over 60k, and these firefighters make about 22-35. That is just sad.

You run for treasurer or something, and I will move to your district just to vote for you.

<edit>
holy crap! I just noticed I posted over 150 posts today. Or since I woke up 20 hours ago anyway. That is insane, and tells me to go to bed.
