"SAVE" folder created when playing Day of Defeat?

I noticed that whenever I start up Day of Defeat, a folder called "SAVE" is created on my root.
Does anyone know where the setting would be to change the path in which this is created, or to turn off the option of creating this folder entirely?
Not sure if HalfLife/CS would do the same thing.

I dunno what it's for, but it's likely where DoD saves files downloaded from a server. Just curious, why are you wanting to get rid of it?

Because it NEVER has anything in it, even after I jump around to about 30 servers over a 4 hour playing session. And besides that, I'm just a neat freak. 🙂

I get the same folder created on my c:\ drive root. I don't play DoD - so it must be CS creating it as its the only thing I play.

Forgot to mention, the folder is always empty - no hidden files or folders. Perhaps its used to store temp files when playing the game?

if it's empty, don't worry about it man. run a trojan scanner while you play if you really want to be paranoid.

I have the exact same thing. I'm 100% sure it's Counter-Strike.
It appeared after I installed the "retail" version that came w/ my 8500.

Exact same deal as w/ u Jason & Mitzi
