Save cookies for fresh format?

I'm going to reformat and go from 98SE to 2000. I'd like to save and transfer my "Cookies" folder. Is that possible going to the different OS?
Should I also save & transfer my "Temporary Internet File" or is that basically the same as my "Cookies" folder?

You forgot the donut, ice cream and cola folders.

you should be able to export cookies and favorites from the IE file menu.

Just save the cookies folder to the tupperware drive and be sure that you seal it tight to lock in freshness. 😀
