The way this season has gone, Chuck deserves to be canceled along with The Office.

I'm surprised at all the comments like this.

If I had only watched the first 8 episodes of Chuck this season, I'd be inclined to agree with you, but it has definitely gotten a LOT better in the last 5 eps or so.

I love watching Chuck, but I agree that I don't see a reason to keep it going. He's now a spy and has the girl, what more is there to do. I think it has met it's life expectancy.

how does one become a reporter anyway?

iirc, it's totally random. A few representatives come by your house (I believe they do some demographic data checking first), and propose it to you.

What I do know:
1--if you agree to use the box, you can't let anyone else know that you have it
2--You're chances of being a reporter increases if you have a family.

I'm guessing they try to be somewhat unbiased in their demographic data, but I'd speculate that they really only care about "family programming." It is a private organization, after all, and they will have their own internal biases. It's a bit like the MPAA--they claim to have an unbiased panel making decisions, but that panel is selected based on extremely biased criteria.

A good friend of mine, and his family, were once approached as candidates for a box. They turned it down...you actually have to watch TV at certain times. I don't think they were into the forced scheduling of their lives.

Wonder how this plays out these days with the rising popularity of DVRs?
:hmm:

no one cares what you think.

I care, so please don't speak for me when you say no one, numbnuts.

As for Chuck, I'd be happy to see it go. The show is ridiculous enough but I'm just sick of seeing that doofus's face in commercials whenever I'm forced to watch NBC for some random sporting event they cover. Thankfully this poll doesn't mean a thing for the shows future. Parenthood can go away too please, as much as Craig T. needs work this show will live in the shadow of a superior Modern Family if it stays on the air.

Regardless of all this I'm already doing a happy dance for The Office's demise so any other NBC axings is just icing on an already delicious cake.

Ok, I hope whatever show you like gets canceled. Happy?

Besides, why do you care so much about a show's failure? Just because YOU don't like it, doesn't mean it deserves to fail. There's plenty of shows out there that I don't particularly like, but I'm not championing them to be canceled...

Screw off.

I don't know what "winning" this contest entails, but I think it would've been renewed regardless. We'll just have to see, I guess.

lol you must be new here despite the join date, rooting for failure is ATOTs past-time with almost anything that draws an opinion.

Get over yourself, my bitching about (IMHO) bad shows and the fact I hope they're axed won't have anything to do with the renewal outcome, but I'm still going to voice my negative opinion like the others before me in hope they are replaced with something better. I dislike plenty of other shows too but in this thread we're only talking about these particular titles, of which I share this opinion.

Go right ahead and hope my favorites are canceled, none of them are really in any trouble but if they were I'm not going to fly off the handle at the dime-a-dozen Internet forum haters. Yeesh.

Get over yourself. Another admiral trait from the aver ATOT'er: the holier than thou attitude. Fuck off. If you think your post count and/or join date somehow makes you important... well, it doesn't.

A lot of what I said so far was in jest, but you seem to take it seriously. Whatever.

Wow you just won't let this rest, will you?

When exactly did I impart join date or post count (never even mentioned post count, but whatever) as being something to make one seem important on here? I merely joked that you're taking this wayyyy too seriously for someone who's been a member for as long as you have (judging by the join date), leaving me to assuming you know how things work around here. Nothing about "importance", not sure where you got that from. I'd relent if you were actually the OP defending his thread but come on with this kiddy crusade you're poised to go on just because I dissed your favorite show.

And I also don't consider "No one cares what you think" and "Screw off" as jest, but I guess those weren't part of the "a lot of what you said." Give me a break, I'm an equal-opportunity hater when it comes to this. I ripped FG for that crappy Sunday episode and I still love the show. I call things like I see them, that's all. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

i voted for 'chuck', but wtf?! 'parenthood' only had 4% of the vote?!?

in all honesty, 'parenthood' is the best show in that entire lineup.
Parenthood is likely going to be renewed.

NBC is in a position right now where they pretty much have to hold on to any show that isn't outright hemorrhaging money.
