Here's one possible deal at Amazon.

Expedited(by Dec. 23)Shipping.... 11.14
Sub.........................................$223.07
$50 off $200 Amazon coupon........-50.00
Linksis Rebate............................-15.00
Total.........................................$158.07

FYI
Linksys FESWSK5 EtherFast Switched 10/100 Network in a Box:

*Delivers high bandwidth performance to entire network
*Connects up to 5 computers, with 10 Mbps, 20 Mbps 100 Mbps, or 200 Mbps speed

I found the Amazon coupon at dailyedeals and the Linksys rebate is linked with the network kit at Amazon. I got a decent PCI video card, a great network kit, stayed well under my $200.00 budget AND should get it by December 23rd!

Whew! No longer a post virgin. HTH

Well, I can definitely recommend the FESWSK5. It's incredibly easy to set up (everything plug & play), and it's INCREDIBLY fast. I really couldn't believe it. (Plus, this hub is not a heck of a lot bigger than a cassette tape.) It comes with two LNE100TX 10/100 PCI network cards.

I use it to share a DSL connection with absolutely no problems.

One note: My Win98 machines had no problems using the drivers supplied in the box, but my WinME machine had some connection problems until I used updated drivers from the LinkSys site.

This is a great price on a switched hub. And IMHO, there's really no need to pay extra for the "DSL/Cable router," since good software is all the firewall protection most of us are going to need.

This deal really isn't that HOT. I mean, you coulda gotten the Geforce deal at Staples for $125 and that Office Max retail network in a box (not switched though) for $5. Now those were hot deals...

cbass: Unswitched network vs. switched network is comparing apples and oranges. It's like saying you can get an emachines computer for only $200 so why pay $2000 for a P4. Hell you could buy a link cable for $2, now THAT'S a cheap network!

Speaking just about the network-in-a-box: Amazon's price is very close to the lowest, though you could save about $3 by going through Egghead. Of course, you can't use the $50 off $200 anywhere else, but then again, you've got to spend a LOT extra just to get the $50 off here.

(One other quick note: Despite the picture on Amazon's site, you really do get v2.0 of this hub, which is the little blue & black version).

Have to admit, $129 for a Voodoo4 PCI doesn't seem that great, since you can get an ATI Radeon 32DDR AGP for $135 these days. But, he wanted to use the $50 off coupon, so you have to take that into account.

Well........My requirements were met exactly!

1. I needed a PCI card. Without an AGP slot on my micro MB, the AGP card could have been handy as a paper weight only. The Voodoo4 PCI met my budget but was not easy to find in stock. Amazon to the rescue.
2. I grabbed a great "network in a box".
3. I'll get the goods by December 23rd.
4. I saved $65.00 which is nothing to sneeze at.

All things considered this was a great deal for me. I'm sure others can find products in the electronics section to use the $50 off $200 coupon too. If someone wants a Linksys product they save even more.
