I have heard that BMW's are good, but not really worth the price. I think its more of a status thing. Thats my 2 cents.
Some are, then again there is a reason that the 3 series wins almost every car mag review of sport sedans. They are amazingly tuned.
There's two sides to that coin. Ten years ago . . . there really wasn't an entry-level luxury sport class to speak of so it was BMW and . . . .
These days the competition still has issues:
Acura . . . still hasn't figured out that cars can actually move on the other two wheels (RL, RDX, MDX, notwithstanding)
Audi . . . heavy . . . in weight, steering, and maintenance
Lexus . . . better to ride than to drive
Infiniti . . . interior and NVH by Nissan . . . but G35 is a contender . . . and would outsell 3-series if they had a convertible
Domestic US . . . HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Subaru . . . all sport no luxury
Mitsubishi . . . all sport no luxury
I'm old enough to remember duds like the 318ti.
